Fathom that: British theatre in cinemas around the world

"Upcoming broadcasts include Arnold Wesker’s "The Kitchen" this Thursday on November 3rd. Set in the 1950s London kitchen of an enormous West End restaurant, this is a blackly funny production. On December 1st, from the writer of Trainspotting, comes a blistering new play, Collaborators, depicting a lethal game of cat and mouse. March 1st, Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors stars British comedian Lenny Henry. More productions will be announced.

"National Theatre Live is the National Theatre of Great Britain’s groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre direct from London to movie theaters around the world. Each performance is filmed in high definition and broadcast direct via satellite to over 700 venues in 22 countries, including 300 venues across the U.S."

The National Theatre has taken a leaf from the Met's cinematic opera broadcasts. It's live theatre gone global. If you catch it, tell us what you think.
