Bryson at home
We were standing on a ladder, cleaning panes of glass in a large bowed window - what else would you rather do on your honeymoon? - when the crumpled pages of the Telegraph revealed Bill Bryson's latest book. The president of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, the Chancellor of Durham University, and the author of more than a dozen popular books, Bill Bryson has just published a ramble through the history of domestic life by describing the old rectory in Norfolk which he shares with his wife Cynthia. We haven't read it, but we bet Bryson makes cleaning windows fascinating.
