Down Ampney

Come Down, O Love divine, performed by the choir of King's College, Cambridge. The music is by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and is called Down Ampney, in honour of the village where he was born.

Now recognized as one of the great English composers, Ralph Vaughan Williams did not appear capable of being a composer when he was young -

Until the composer was close to thirty there seemed little prospect of success, teachers admiring his persistence but not detecting any obvious natural talent; it was apparently only the realization that ‘it will simply break his heart if he is told that he is too bad to hope to make anything of it’, as one relative put it that persuaded the family to let him continue his studies (Oxford DNB).

I doubt they could have stopped him.
