Wheeler challenges Tories to take more assertive stance on EU
Conservative party donor Stuart Wheeler, who led a legal challenge to the Lisbon Treaty, will speak with Lord Pearson at the second Annual James Goldsmith Memorial Lecture, to be held at University College London today. He will call on Conservative Party leader Cameron to keep the promise of a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty or conduct an "immediate and massive" renegotiation of the UK's relationship with the EU.
We're glad that Stuart Wheeler is urging action as the Conservatives increase their leads in the polls. What we would like to see is not a "massive renegotiation", but an immediate and friendly good-bye to the EU.
