The billions flowing through Brussels

Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit, who linked to our post on EU corruption, quotes Larry Lessig - "In fact, one of the reasons why the Framers [of the US Constitution] were small-government people was not a deep belief in libertarianism but a recognition that the more money flows through Washington, the more risk of corruption."

Doubtless the more money that flows through any capital city, the more risk of corruption. But the billions flowing through Brussels have created corruption on a scale not previously known in Britain. This is confirmed by the fact that EU auditors have refused to sign off on the EU books for a decade.
