Changing your mind

No farewell to winter yet. It is cold in balmy Britain.

The Daily Express reports -

New evidence has cast doubt on claims that the world’s ice-caps are melting, it emerged last night.

Satellite data shows that concerns over the levels of sea ice may have been premature.

It was feared that the polar caps were vanishing because of the effects of global warming.

But figures from the respected US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that almost all the “lost” ice has come back.

. . . Figures show that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than is usual for the time of year.

Except for Western Europe, much of the world has suffered the heaviest snowfalls in decades, and the Sun's low magnetic activity may portend an ice age.

Lord Keynes famously said, When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?

If you are a global warming spear-carrier you drop warming like a hot potato and talk about climate change. As you do, the businesses out to make big bucks from us by trading carbon credits continue to expand.

We support freeing ourselves from oil dependence, but if we do this based on the wrong set of facts we may face consequences unfriendly to our wallets and our lives. We note that the European Union has developed plans to do just that.
