The Queen in America

A report with photos showing The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh meeting Americans. Affection and respect were evident, though apnews misspelled the Duke's name. Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor commented on the historical ties between Britain and America long after the fight to win independence. Likely the Justice was thinking about common law and trial by jury, but perhaps she had a thought for World War I or World War II or keeping the zombie tyranny of the Soviet Union out of Western Europe. Or maybe she was thinking of The Queen at Britain's memorial service for the dead of 9-11 –

"The first chords of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' rumbled up from the great organ at St Paul's Cathedral, and the Queen did something she's never done before — she sang a foreign national anthem, all the words.
